I recently attended the D23 Ultimate Fan Event and was able to attend the Horizons Disney Experiences Showcase where they made some really incredible announcements about what is coming for the Disney Parks and cruises all around the world.
In this article, I want to highlight the announcements for Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. There are a few really exciting things coming!
These are all “boots on the ground, dirt is moving” projects. No Blue Sky dreaming here! These are things that will actually happen and are already in progress at the Disneyland Resort.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro brought us updates on the new Pandora-themed destination coming to Disney California Adventure park. The area will draw inspiration from “Avatar: The Way of Water” and upcoming Avatar films like “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” and feature a new dynamic attraction where you can discover the beauty – and dangers – of Pandora.
I am so excited about the ride coming to this new land. It looks simply amazing!
Next, We’re going un poco loco for the new attraction themed to “Coco” coming to Disney California Adventure! Guests will join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead with beloved music and characters from the film. Work begins on the attraction in 2026.
One of the most surprising announcements was this next one. A tribute to Walt Disney is coming to Disneyland with the debut of the first-ever Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure at an all-new show on Main Street U.S.A.! “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will premiere inside the Main Street Opera House and after its opening season, will transition to play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”
This sounds really incredible and I can’t wait to see it! I know so much care is going into it to represent Walt as authentically as possible.
Attention Star Wars fans: a new mission is touching down at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. The all-new story, centered around “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” arrives in 2026 in time with the film.
This will be such a fun addition to an already fun ride!
We still can’t believe Deadpool crashed D23! After a few questionable ideas from the “Merc with a Mouth,” Josh shared updates and a name for the new attraction coming to Avengers Campus – Avengers Infinity Defense, and announced an all-new attraction, Stark Flight Lab. Construction begins next year on the expansion, and the debut of these new attractions will double the size of the land.
We were all so shocked that a 4th ride is coming to Avengers Campus! I can’t wait to see it all finished!
And that wraps it up for all the exciting announcements for Disneyland Resort.
What are you most excited about? We would love to know!
