Disney Cruise Line is known for its magical experiences on board their ships, and my recent cruise on the Disney Wonder did not disappoint.
This was not my first time on the Wonder, but it was my first time sailing out of San Diego, and the port was a breeze to navigate. It was easy to access, just an 18-minute Uber ride from the airport, and we were quickly dropping off our bags and embarking on our adventure.
Ports of Call
Our first port of call was Catalina Island, and I was surprised to see how child friendly it was. The island greeted us with multiple public parks for the kids to run around while I rented a golf cart to explore the beautiful views and sites.
We made a pit stop for some delicious gelato then hopped on the city bus for a quick ride up to enjoy the beautiful monument and cactus gardens at Wrigleys Monument. It was a perfect day filled with adventure. My son can’t wait to go back and try out the zip lining excursion!
Onboard Wonder
For our second port, we decided to skip Ensenada and take advantage of a quiet boat day. We enjoyed the heated pools, slides, and participated in an animation class with no crowds! We did our best (and lost) in Disney trivia games, and bounced back with a fun silent dance party!
Mom and I ended the night by dropping the kids off in the kids’ club and checking out the new Antman movie (still in theaters!). It was a great way to recharge and relax.
So Much To Do!
The smaller boat was so intimate and such a great experience for us to connect! I highly recommend the Wonder or the Magic for those who are looking for experiences to spend time together. I was able to challenge my boys to basketball and ping pong, take my mom to brunch, and watch fireworks from the deck all in one day.
Overall, our Disney Cruise on the Wonder was a great success. The ports of call were fun and child-friendly, and the ship offered so many activities and entertainment options for everyone in the family. I can’t wait to get back on board and make more unforgettable memories with my family.
