Everything You Need to Know About Disney’s Lightning Lane Premier Passes

Disney fans, get ready! Starting this fall, Disney is testing a brand-new way to skip the lines at some of its most popular attractions with the Lightning Lane Premier Pass at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. This pilot program will test out an exclusive pass that will allow guests to breeze through the Lightning Lane for major rides, offering a more customized way to experience the parks—perfect for those looking to maximize their day. With this added convenience, also comes an additional cost. Keep reading to learn all of the specifics.

At Walt Disney World in Florida, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available starting October 30th, with prices ranging from $129 to $449 per person, depending on the park and date. Keep in mind, this is an extra cost on top of your park admission, and it’s only available for guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and select other hotels. Eligible guests can snag their passes up to a week before their arrival.

Over on the West Coast, Disneyland Parks in California will launch its version of the Premier Pass on October 23rd. Through the busy Halloween and holiday seasons, this pass will cost $400 per person. In 2025, the pricing will drop slightly, with passes ranging between $300 and $400 based on the day. Unlike at Disney World, anyone with a park ticket and reservation can purchase the pass at Disneyland, with pricing details released in the app two days before your visit.

This is how Lightning Lane Premier Pass works:

  1. At Walt Disney World, receive one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction in a single park for one day-including the most in-demand attractions. Keep in mind, park hopping is not included with the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. At Disneyland the Lightning Lane Premier Pass provides a one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction at Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure Park, so you can use the premier pass at both parks on the same day.
  2. Ride the attractions you want, in any order without choosing specific arrival times.
  3. Enjoy photo perks, including digital downloads of select attraction photos, and videos as well as unlocking special Disney PhotoPass Lenses!

While this program comes with a premium price tag, it offers the potential for a more seamless and time-efficient park experience, especially for those visiting during the busiest times of the year.

Of course, with prices ranging as high as $449 per person, the Premier Pass may not be in every Disney goer’s budget. The question remains: is it worth the investment for your next Disney trip? What do you think? Would you consider adding the Premier Pass to your experience to make your visit more seamless and enjoyable?
