Let’s go! Time to enter Super Nintendo World at Universal Hollywood!
First Things First
The first thing to do is get your Power Up Bands. These let you play the games within the land as well as gather coins from the coin blocks.
Power Up Bands can be purchased at one of the stores near the entrance of the park as well as within Super Nintendo World at the 1-UP Factory. I recommend purchasing them at the stores near the park entrance so you can have them all linked and ready as soon as you enter the land.
Once you have your bands, you will link them to the Super Nintendo World area of the Universal Hollywood app. Once they are linked you will be able to track your coins and points on the app.
Entering the World Like Mario Does
Entering the land is just like going through a Mario tube. It’s so fun!
So Much to Look At and Do!
Once inside there is so much to see with lots of little characters moving around all around you. Iconic buildings like Peach’s castle and Bowser’s castle and so much more are available for interactive fun!
Where to Eat
Toadstool Cafe is the eatery in Super Nintendo World. Currently, you have to have a reservation to eat there and they were all gone for the day by the time I got to the land (it was a very crowded day). But I’ve heard that late in the day they sometimes let people in standby (the same as entering the land itself).
When needed, there is a virtual queue to enter the land. Another option is to purchase Express Pass for the day and that will also let you enter the land.
A Couple of Tips to Help You Have the Best Experience
You may purchase early entry to Super Nintendo World an hour before the park opens for $20 per person. From what I’ve seen, this is a great deal as you will have a shorter wait for the ride as well as guaranteed entrance into Super Nintendo World. It will also allow you to experience Toadstool Cafe.
There is a lot of this land that is not shaded and it can get quite hot on sunny Southern California days so hydrate and wear sunscreen and a hat. Take breaks when needed. Ask a Universal cast member if you need help finding shade as there are a few hidden spots in the land.
Mario and his friends do appear to say hello from time to time so keep a lookout!
