The Explorean Cozumel

My son Kayden graduated in May 2019. So I sat him down and said what do you want to do for your Sr trip? This was his wishlist: adventures, the beach, unlimited food, and the trip to be relaxing.

No pressure for your Mom who is a travel planner 🙂 I researched and talked to multiple suppliers and then came across the Explorean Cozumel. This resort fit the bill.

The Explorean Cozumel is different than most AI Resorts. It’s an adventure resort and you are encouraged to get out and explore. The rooms have wifi but no TV and there are adventure guides on staff.

You meet with your guide at check-in.

Then, you get a list of your activity choices for the week and a rundown of the resort.

While we were there my family tried these particular adventures, but there were many more to choose from.

A temazcal ([temasˈkal]) is a type of sweat lodge which originated with pre-Hispanic Indigenous peoples in Mesoamerica. Charlie, Hope, and I were the only ones brave enough to try this. Charlie and Hope said it was a neat one-time experience, but they would never do it again. I LOVED it and would try it again.

Then Kayden, Charlie, and Gracie went on the Jeep ride around the island another day and LOVED it! They all gave this one “2 thumbs” up.

We all went snorkeling on another adventure and we all LOVED it! We also went on a kayaking adventure which was amazing too.

There was also a bike riding option. The resort is always adding new experiences and adventures.

Outside the adventures, we loved the resort that is located on Cozumel. With some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world and even the snorkeling gear was included with your resort stay!
