With traveling internationally increasing dramatically as we move into the next year; we are finding people are searching for tips to help them travel better. When it comes to international travel there are a lot of factors that you have to consider from passports to jet lag. Here are some of our best tips for traveling internationally.
Passport
Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months following your return date to the USA or the airline can deny you boarding the airplane.
Travel Documents
Keep a digital copy of your travel documents, everything from your passport to where you are staying – and not just on your phone! You’ll want it on a cloud service somewhere in case you lose something.
Jet Lag
Jet Lag can seriously disrupt your vacation plans. Before you travel, try and go to bed earlier to accommodate the time change. Sleep on the plane as much as you c
an! When you arrive, stay up and adjust to the new time zone as quickly as possible.
Differences from Home
Learn more about where you are going from, what type of money they use, if your credit cards will work there, and what plug adapters you might need. There is a lot to learn about each new destination, and your travel agent can help you with all of that!
Essentials
Keep all of your essentials in your carry-on in case your luggage is delayed. Once you arrive, don’t carry your passport with you everywhere. Keep your purse or wallet close to you (perhaps inside a layer of clothes), and watch your surroundings.
Travel Insurance
Purchase travel insurance! This covers more than just the cost of your trip as it helps with medical needs and other unexpected expenses.
H2O
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! This will aid dramatically in fighting jet lag!
