Costa Rica, it’s a natural wonder filled with amazing natural surprises.
At the end of November and early December, my husband Charlie and I traveled to Costa Rica and I want to give you an idea of what it currently looks like to travel there.
There are pre-travel requirements (these are subject to change at any time, but they are current as of December 1, 2020. Click here for the Entry Requirements.
When I traveled in November, I needed to carry health insurance that met set standards by the government of Costa Rica. This was easy to get.
Then 48 hours before your trip you need to fill out a health pass form. Click here to get the Health Pass form.
Now onto the fun part of the trip!
We flew out of Dallas and headed to Liberia, Costa Rica. Our four hour flight was super easy.
We flew on American Airlines. Click here to see American Airlines Clean Commitment.
Things you should be aware of when flying:
- Normal drink service is not offered and you will get a bag when you board the plane with a small bottle of water, a snack, and a sanitizing wipe.
- I suggest bringing your own drink and snack in case you get thirsty or hungry.
- I also carried extra wipes and an extra mask with me.
We landed in Costa Rica after a great flight and our entry was easy.
I had printed copies of all the documents needed and we breezed right through customs. We were picked up by our private transfer and we drove about 30 minutes to our All-Inclusive resort, Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica. I loved this resort as soon as we got to the lobby! The view from the lobby is amazing and seeing the resort lobby decked out for Christmas was extra special.
My team and I are booking our guests at resorts that we know have safety health protocols in place. Click here to read the CleanComplete Verification ™ Verification Protocols for AM Resorts.
About Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica
Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica is located on the stunning Papagayo Peninsula in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
This adults-only resort will seem a million miles away, but it’s only a short 20 minute drive from the Liberia International Airport. It’s perfectly situated on a serene beachfront and surrounded by lush tropical gardens, and it is nestled into the mountainside.
I loved my bungalow and the rooms here are some of my favorite resort rooms of any Secrets resort I have stayed at. Click here for a tour of our room.
I enjoyed the relaxing pool and spending a day at the Cabanas.
My husband Charlie fished and ziplined one day and he loved both of those.
This was Charlie’s first trip out of the country after the shutdown and it was good for him to get away. He got to relax and take excursions.
Costa Rica is an active person’s dream destination with pretty much unlimited outdoor activities to take part in.
We went on a guided hike to Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and got to see volcanic activity which was incredible!
It was also fun to see the wildlife in its natural habitat and the waterfall activity was incredible!
If tropical rainforest, beaches and active adventure travel are your jam, then Costa Rica could be a great trip for you!
